My interest in Black history is wide indeed and in many ways I have been of my time.

I have been researching Black History on a global perspective for many years choosing to look beyond the United States as I recognise much work has been done in the that area. Subjects for me can cover everything from World War II, to Renaissance Europe, to the ballet.

In my work in Black History, I was able to meet notables like the grandfather of Lindy Hop Frankie Manning, actor Ron Glass (of Barney Miller fame), and dancer Lottie Graves Claybourne (contemporary of Redd Foxx and the Funk Brothers). I also became noted for my work in the contributions of Black women in the Ballet.

But my primary point of discussion is the issues I have had in doing my work and how Black history is studied, if it is at all.
